Our Missionaries

First United Methodist Church is committed to sharing the love of God through Jesus Christ with persons around the globe.  We believe that our God is a sending God who sends us forth into a field that is “white unto harvest.”

Our Missions Ministry Team has utilized an annual Faith Promise Campaign to generate funds for an ambitious hands-on mission program.  Team members monthly administer funds in support of 11 missionaries in 8 countries, provide scholarships and construction/medical supplies for short-term mission projects, contribute to local and international outreach projects, decide upon signature mission projects, attend to emergencies that arise on the mission field, and plan Volunteers In Mission ventures in state, out of state, and internationally. 

The ministry team hosts a Mission Festival each spring to “tell the story” of our mission involvement, to hear personal stories from the missionaries we support, and to conduct the Faith Promise Campaign.  The team also conducts a free Faith Promise Appreciation Luncheon (Oktoberfeast) each fall to say thank you to our congregation and community for their prayer and financial support.
