NURSERY
Keeping in our minds Jesus’ instructions to “Let the little children come to me…” in Matthew 19:14 our desire is to provide an environment for our littlest ones that is loving, positive and safe. Through music, lessons and loving hugs we want our children to experience Jesus’ love for them.

Check-In/Out Procedure:
Check-in…Please fill out the Sign-in sheet outside the classroom doors. If your child has special needs please fill in the “Special Instructions Form” on the sign-in sheet. On Sunday mornings upon arrival your child will be given an assigned number (You will be required to present your number when you pick up your child) On Sunday mornings, should we need to contact you concerning your child, your assigned number will flash on the number board in the Sanctuary. Be sure to locate the board and sit where the board is visible to you.
Check-out…Please be sure to pick up your child immediately following the function you are attending. Remember on Sunday mornings you will need to present your assigned number when you pick up your child. Adults only (with assigned number) are to pick up children from the nursery area.
Items your little One Needs:
Disposable diapers are required. A change of clothes in a plastic bag in case of accidents. Please have your child’s belongings properly labeled. Objects of comfort such as lovies, blankets, and pacifiers are helpful but please do not bring toys, food, candy or gum.
Well Child Policy:
Sick children must be kept at home. “Sick Child” guidelines include fever of 100 degrees or higher, flu symptoms, pinkeye, excessive cough…Children must be symptom free 24 hours before returning. Nursery staff may not administer medication.
Snack Time:
A light snack during services and events will be served but please make sure your child has been fed beforehand and let us know of any food allergies.
Potty Training:
It is helpful to know if your child is being potty trained and what method you are using. We will encourage the training by scheduled potty breaks and frequently asking if your child needs to go potty. However, accidents may happen and we want to encourage you to send your child in pull-ups if necessary and always send a second set of clothing.
Caring/comforting Techniques:
Our goal is to make sure your child is comforted in every way and we will do everything possible to keep your child happy and content. However, we do know that going to the Nursery can be an adjustment for some children and may be a hard transition. Our desire is for your child to be well adjusted and comfortable with their nusery surroundings, therefore, we will do a lot of redirecting and comforting techniques before going to get the parent. However, if you would like to be notified within 10 minutes of your child crying please let us know and we would be glad to find you.
We want you to know that your child is precious to us and is in good hands and well taken care of. Should you have further Nursery questions please contact Trish Merritt and Julie Maher at 580-223-5390 x318
