Children’s COVID-19 Response
The leadership of our church has decided that worship will begin on Sunday, June 14th (changes are always possible as updates occur with local, state and CDC guidelines). This will only include the 9:00am Traditional service and the 11:05am Epic service. There will be no Sunday school classes meeting on campus at this time. We will inform you when Sunday school will be available again to our nursery children (6-weeks-old through completed pre-k) and our elementary children (completed kindergarten through completed 5th grade). We will continue to monitor the situation as things unfold, but these are the precautions we will be taking at this time to protect our children on Sunday mornings.
Healthy Kids Policy:
We are unable to keep your child if they have had any of the following in the last 14 days:
– Exposure to any person that has been diagnosed or showing symptoms of Covid-19
– Fever of 100.4 (unless a doctor exam has found another cause for example ear infection, strep, etc.)
– Lower respiratory symptoms such as cough or shortness of breath
– Cold symptoms such as excessive cough or non- clear nose drainage
We are unable to keep your child if they have had any of the following in the last 48 hours:
– Exposure to any other communicable diseases beyond Covid-19
– Vomiting
– Diarrhea
– Contagious or unexplained rash
– Discharge in or around the eyes
– Pink eye
– Lice
– Any viral infection
– Antibiotic treatment for less than 24 hours
If your child shows any signs of the above symptoms while in our care, you will be contacted to come get your child. Thank you for your cooperation as we strive to keep our FUMC kids healthy.
Snacks and Drinks:
– Water fountains will be closed at this time
– There will be no snacks offered at this time
– If you have a nursery child (6 weeks old through completed pre-k) please pack your child their own sippy cup labeled with their name.
– If you have an elementary child (completed kindergarten through completed 5th grade) we will offer a small water bottle for each child with their name written on it. These water bottles will be thrown away at the end of our Sunday morning programming.
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures:
– Follow our designated signs and procedures to allow for social distancing during our drop off and pick up times.
– We ask that only one parent drops off and picks up children so we can keep the minimum amount of traffic in our children’s ministry area.
– Check in your child at a kiosk in the Nursery Department hallway or the Fellowship Hall, between 8:45am-9:00am for the 9:00am Traditional service and between 10:45am-11:05am for the 11:05am EPIC service.
– If you have a nursery child (6 weeks old through completed pre-k), you will drop your child off in their designated age-specific room.
– If you have an elementary child (completed kindergarten through completed 3rd grade), your child will attend the beginning of the service with you. Children are released after the Anthem in the 9:00am Traditional service and after the last worship song in the 11:05am EPIC service. Your elementary child will meet our children’s ministry workers at the back of the Sanctuary and be taken to the Fellowship Hall for children’s church. *There is no Children’s Church on the first Sunday of each month due to family communion.
We appreciate your support as we navigate these difficult times. Please know every policy and procedure we are implementing is to keep your child as safe as we can, while they are in our care. We are looking forward to seeing each of their faces, as we begin the process of opening up our church campus.
