Important Information:
Your Leadership Team would like to report the outcome of the Special Called Church Council that was held on Tuesday, June 21st.
The Church Council members present voted 39-2 to take a full membership vote to disaffiliate from the United Methodist Church as outlined in paragraph 2553 in the Book of Discipline on Sunday, July 10, 2022.
Next, the Church Council members present voted 38-3 to become a member congregation of the Global Methodist Church, affirm, endorse the doctrinal standards (Part One), Social Witness (Part Two), and church governance of the Global Methodist Church as set forth in its Transitional Book of Doctrines and Discipline, and agree to be accountable to such Transitional Book of Doctrines and Discipline.
And finally, the Church Council members present voted 41-0, that the percentage of votes to be achieved by a church conference to affirm becoming a member of the Global Methodist Church will be a simple majority, or 50% plus 1, vote of the professing members present at a church conference.
Important Dates:
Wednesday, July 6th at 6pm in the CMC, we will host an all church gathering centered on the Global Methodist Church. Our hope is to share details of this new denomination and answer questions pressing on your heart around the Global Methodist Church.
Sunday, July 10th in the CMC, we will have our Church Conference to vote on leaving the UMC. Right after Epic, we will have a light lunch of pizza, and childcare up to 5th grade will be available as well. After setting rules and possible discussion, he will call for a vote. The vote will be counted and results announced immediately. If the proposal to leave the UMC is successful, then we will hold a vote to affirm the Church Council's motion to join the Global Methodist Church.

Our church will be taking a membership vote on the disaffiliation from the United Methodist Church on July 10, 2022, at 1:00 PM, in the CMC main room. Only members will be allowed to vote. Please bring photo identification with you. The voting process will be overseen by John Breon, District Superintendent.
